About Me

My name is Heather Strutz and I’m the one behind Aitchess Photography (pronounced “H-S” like my initials) which is such a cute backstory. I never had a nickname growing up and I swore I’d give my kids names with “built-in” nicknames, and I did. When I met my the love of my life and now husband, Brian, he was often going by the simple nickname “B” and he took it upon himself to call me “H”. I wasn’t sure about it though so we googled how to spell “H” and to our surprise found it is one of the only letter with an actual spelling in the dictionary, and the coolest one: “Aitch”! From then on I was know as “Aitch”. My husband is my best friend, I love him dearly and when I told him of my love of photography he was the one who inspired me and assured me I could pursue my dreams! I just needed a name that was unique and special to my heart. It was simple! With my new last name I added the “S” to my nickname and created “Aitch-Ess” (“H-S”)! It’s such a fitting name, unique and special to the heart. Now that you know a little about Brian and myself, lets introduce the rest of our circus!

Together we have three beautiful children Lillian (Lilly), Caitlin (Caity), and Benjamin (Benny). I promised you I gave them “built-in” nicknames, didn’t I? Of course I didn’t stop there, naturally they have many nicknames! We live in a state of almost constant chaos but I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are what makes my life worth living and infuses it with love, joy, connection and a whole bunch of fabulous memories!

Speaking of memories… I love using my photography in a storytelling way to capture and preserve the unique feel and connection of the moment. Looking at photos can help you remember details and emotions. From the love and connection that starts it all, the story of a wedding day, to the growth of a family and seniors ready to start their own lives. The details are what I live for!  From the small and large. A tiny little hand, all the baby milestones, forehead kisses, inside jokes, genuine giggles, smiles and even tears of joy. These are some of the tiny moments that may soon be forgotten. I love old family albums and feeling like I can connect with them as if I were there. Photographs are like time machines that will keep our memories long after they fade from our minds!

My goal is to bring together the storytelling and the artistic side of photography in an emotive and captivating way. I want to create quality products and lasting memories for you and your family to treasure. With my help you will be able to share and retell your stories for decades to come. I so look forward to meeting you and/or your family!

Enjoy and treasure every moment!
